Is Your Condo Association in Compliance?

Governor Scott signed Florida HB 718.111 into law.  This new law gives condominium association members a little bit more flexibility and clearly defined how the condominium association should exist as a business entity. 

What the law also did was make a few technology mandates.  All the way down the list to (12)(g) the law states “By July 1, 2018, an association with 150 or more units which does not manage timeshare units shall post digital copies of the following official records on its website”

The main purpose of this provision is to give access to important documents and board decisions to unit owners, making all important board decisions public to all owners in the development (with private access for owners).

While this is important to the development, its left a lot of condo boards scratching their heads, wondering how they can accomplish this task before the July 1st, 2018 deadline.
